Horses
Photo collage. 19th century horses digitally combined with 20th century landscapes of North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, Georgia and Tennessee. I photographed the landscapes between 1999 and 2003 using a Polaroid Land Camera with positive/negative 665 film. Originally I processed these on the road and later printed them in the darkroom onto metal plates. These negatives were later scanned in order for me to digitally collage them with images of horses from daguerreotypes and tintypes of the mid 19th century.
