Arcanian Parish
The Visitation of Henri Dalcour. 30” x 40”, part of the Arcanian Parish series. These collages, created from 3 centuries of photography, depict the untold stories of relationships between men of the 19th century American South exploring themes of love, friendship, nature, spirituality, death, and the afterlife. In this piece Henri Dalcour, the apparition, has returned at dusk with his banjo taking his nightly seat above the water in a flooded tomb. As the evening light fades he serenades his earthly love and all of nature in the autumn serenity of a Louisiana swamp. Gold award - Fine Art/Collage category 2024 Prix de La Photographie de Paris.
